Points System and Node Participation

Overview​

The Skainet Points System is designed to incentivize legitimate user participation during our beta phase. It rewards users for contributing computational resources, engaging with the community, and helping grow the network through referrals and social interactions. Our system focuses on:

  • Rewarding Legitimate Users: Incentivizing real users who bring value through active participation.
  • Preventing Sybil Attacks: Implementing measures to deter and detect fake accounts or malicious activities.
  • Encouraging Network Growth: Leveraging social networks and referrals to grow organically.
  • Maintaining Privacy and Decentralization: Avoiding invasive verification methods like KYC, aligning with Skainet's ethos.
  • Accommodating All Contributors: Rewarding both consumer hardware participants and cloud GPU node operators.

How It Works​

The points system is comprised of three main components:

  1. User Legitimacy Score (L)
  2. Social Engagement Score (S)
  3. Node Contribution Score (N)

Your Total Daily Points are calculated using these scores, along with multipliers and bonuses for additional incentives.

1. User Legitimacy Score (L)​

The User Legitimacy Score assesses the authenticity and commitment of users based on verifiable social and blockchain-based metrics, without requiring sensitive personal information.

Formula:​

  • 1: Base score for all users.
  • W: Wallet Age and Activity Score (0-10)
  • T: Twitter Account Score (0-10)
  • D: Discord Account Score (0-10)
  • E: Email Verification Score (5)

1.1 Wallet Age and Activity (W)​

  • Age of Wallet:

    • 0-3 months: 2 points
    • 3-6 months: 4 points
    • 6-12 months: 6 points
    • 1-2 years: 8 points
    • Over 2 years: 10 points

  • On-Chain Activity:

    • +1 point for every 50 transactions (max 5 points)
    • +1 point for interactions with DeFi protocols (max 3 points)
    • +1 point for holding reputable tokens (max 2 points)

1.2 Twitter Account (T)​

  • Account Age:

    • 0-1 year: 2 points
    • 1-2 years: 4 points
    • Over 2 years: 6 points

  • Verification:

    • Verified account: +2 points

  • Engagement:

    • +0.01 point per 10 followers (max 2 points)
    • +1 point per 200 tweets (max 2 points)

1.3 Discord Account (D)​

  • Account Age:

    • 0-1 year: 2 points
    • 1-2 years: 4 points
    • Over 2 years: 6 points

  • Server Participation:

    • Member of Skainet Discord: +2 points

    • Role holder (e.g., OG): +2 points

    • Active participation:

      • +1 point per server level (max 2 points)

1.4 Email Verification (E)​

  • Verification:

    • Verified email: 5 points

2. Social Engagement Score (S)​

Rewards users for active participation and promotion of Skainet.

Formula:​

  • R: Number of successful referrals
  • I: Number of meaningful social media interactions (likes, retweets, shares related to Skainet)
  • C: Number of constructive comments/posts in Skainet community channels

Caps and Limits:

  • Referrals:

    • Max 5 referrals per week for points calculation.
    • Referrals must achieve a minimum Legitimacy Score to be counted.

  • Social Interactions:

    • Max 10 interactions per week for points calculation.

  • Community Participation:

    • Quality over quantity; moderators may award bonus points for exceptional contributions.

3. Node Contribution Score (N)​

Rewards users for contributing computational resources.

3.1 Consumer Hardware Nodes​

Formula:​

  • U: Uptime in hours per day (max 24)
  • H: Hardware Score (1-10)

Hardware Score (H):

  • CPU Contribution:

    • Basic CPU: 1 point
    • Multi-core CPU (>4 cores): +1 point
    • High-performance CPU: +2 points

  • GPU Contribution:

    • Entry-level GPU (e.g., GTX 1050): 2 points
    • Mid-range GPU (e.g., GTX 1660): 4 points
    • High-end GPU (e.g., RTX 3080): 6 points
    • Enthusiast GPU (e.g., RTX 3090/4090): 8 points
    • Multiple GPUs: Sum their individual scores

3.2 Cloud GPU Nodes​

Formula:​

N=U×G×MN = U \times G \times M
  • U: Uptime in hours per day (max 24)
  • G: GPU Score based on cloud GPU type
  • M: Multiplier for cloud contribution (e.g., 2x to reflect higher cost)

GPU Score (G):

  • High-end GPUs (e.g., A100, H100): 10 points per GPU
  • Mid-range Cloud GPUs: 6 points per GPU

4. Total Points Calculation​

Formula:​

Daily Points=(L×5)+(S×2)+(N×10)\text{Daily Points} = (L \times 5) + (S \times 2) + (N \times 10)
  • L: User Legitimacy Score
  • S: Social Engagement Score
  • N: Node Contribution Score

5. Multipliers and Bonuses​

5.1 Account Linkage Bonus​

  • Linking Multiple Accounts:

    • 1.05x multiplier for each additional account linked after the first (max 1.2x)

5.2 Consistency Bonus​

  • Continuous Activity:

    • +1% multiplier for each consecutive day of activity (max 1.25x after 25 days)
    • Resets if a day is missed

5.3 Early Adopter Bonus​

  • First Month:

    • 1.5x multiplier on all points earned

  • Second Month:

    • 1.25x multiplier

6. Anti-Sybil Measures​

  • Minimum Legitimacy Score:

    • Users must have a Legitimacy Score (L) of at least 10 to start earning points.

  • Cooldown Period:

    • New accounts have a 48-hour cooldown before earning points.

  • Referral Verification:

    • Referrals must achieve the minimum Legitimacy Score to be counted.

  • IP and Device Checks:

    • Monitor for multiple accounts from the same IP or device.

  • Behavioral Analysis:

    • Detect patterns indicative of sybil attacks.

  • Reporting and Appeals:

    • Users can report suspicious activity.
    • Appeals process for users mistakenly flagged.

7. Leaderboards and Tiers​

7.1 Leaderboards​

  • Global Leaderboard: Top users worldwide.
  • Regional Leaderboards: Users ranked within their geographic regions.
  • Referral Leaderboard: Top referrers.
  • Node Contribution Leaderboard: Highest computational contributors.

7.2 Tiers​

  • Bronze: 0 - 10,000 points
  • Silver: 10,001 - 30,000 points
  • Gold: 30,001 - 60,000 points
  • Platinum: 60,001 - 100,000 points
  • Diamond: 100,001+ points

Tier Benefits:

  • Bronze:

    • Access to basic features.

  • Silver:

    • 1.05x multiplier on future points.
    • Access to exclusive channels.

  • Gold:

    • 1.1x multiplier.
    • Early access to new features.

  • Platinum:

    • 1.15x multiplier.

  • Maintain node uptime for 24 hours: +200 bonus points
  • Participate in community discussion: +50 bonus points

Weekly Challenges​

  • Refer two legitimate users: +500 bonus points
  • Contribute a helpful resource or tutorial: +300 bonus points

Monthly Challenges​

  • Achieve 90% uptime over the month: +2,000 bonus points
  • Reach Gold tier: +1,000 bonus points

9. Governance Integration​

Empower users to influence the platform:

    • Showcase top cloud GPU contributors.

  • Special Challenges:

    • Maintain 99% uptime on cloud node for a week: +5,000 bonus points

  • Verification Mechanisms:

    • API integration with cloud providers for resource validation.

    • Enhance Legitimacy Score through cross-platform activities.

Q: Do I need high-end hardware to participate?

A: No. While higher-end hardware earns more points, all contributions are valuable.

Q: How are points converted to SKAI tokens?

A: Points accumulated during the beta phase will be converted to SKAI tokens upon the stable release. Conversion details will be announced closer to that time.

Q: How does Skainet prevent fraud and sybil attacks?

A: We use Legitimacy Scores, anti-sybil measures, and monitoring to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.

Q: Can I control how much of my device's resources are used?

A: Yes, you can adjust resource allocation and set contribution schedules in the Skainet client.

Q: What if I don't want to link my social accounts?

A: Linking accounts increases your Legitimacy Score, but it's not mandatory. However, you must meet the minimum score to start earning points.
